The design for the long-awaited Glenwood gateway sign will be revealed at the next Blacktown City Council’s monthly community forum, which allows residents and ratepayers to come and Have Your Say.

“The new gateway sign was the last legacy of the late Councillor Leo Kelly,” th Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Stephen Bali said.

Council knows how much this Glenwood sign means to this community and how hard Cr Kelly worked to see this as part of the neighbourhood, Mayor Bali said.

“Everyone is invited to the forum to see the design of the new sign, which is the gateway to your community.

“Our Council officers have worked with students from Glenwood High School to ensure the design fits in well with the area and the community, so come along and have a look for yourselves,” Mayor Bali said.

Council’s community forum is at 7pm on Wednesday, 2 August at the Glenwood Community Hub, 72 Glenwood Park Drive, Glenwood.

This is Council’s second forum in Ward 2 for 2017, giving residents in the area a chance to raise issues about their neighbourhood.

“I would like everyone in Glenwood and surrounding suburbs to take advantage of this opportunity to meet up with me, your Ward Councillors and Council experts,” Mayor Bali said.

“Some of the other topics that will be discussed at the Glenwood forum include an update on roads and traffic, library services beyond borrowing books and community safety programs.

“I will also let the community know about the petition Council has backed opposing the proposed Energy from Waste facility in Eastern Creek and talk about some of the broader plans for our City,” Mayor Bali said.

“It is encouraging to see more and more residents taking advantage of Council’s face-to-face engagement and coming to meet with myself and my fellow Councillors.”

Visit the community forum page on Council’s website for a full list of the community forums, regular updates, and how you can engage with Council.

Forum details:  Wednesday, 2 August, 7pm at Glenwood Community Hub, 72 Glenwood Park Road, Glenwood.
