My Thoughts On Our Education For Children In Our Area!

My thoughts on the Ed Husic Education Forum( E-mailed today):

Education has to be interesting, problem solving and relating to current or future life of a student! Teachers should be a guide for the student , showing the right way to go forward in life. Students need to understand the benefit of being educated.

Make sure we have the best people  and pay teachers top dollars: especially, teachers that make children really find their work interesting, results orientated, bringing out the highest of quality work and results from the students. Teachers and Prinicpals will then be able to entrust the child by committing the best result that the student wants to have want to have.

In the curriculum, provide the appropriate education and provide relevant Counseling advice to the children in need, that find it difficult to study.
From the early stages explain the three levels of education in plain simple 4 to 5 year old language and ask them what job to they want to do when they finish school, reviewed every year and submitted by the student at every end of year school report. This sets in goals to complete the necessary education they need, to fulfill their studies. Allow  and encourage parents and guardians.

Provide a wider range of subjects to choose from. It a certain school do not have the student numbers and a another local school has, allow the student to share-study  with other schools. Each school could special for a specialised career category ( for example once could specialise in science and another Australian history).

Ensure there is sufficient public transport to allow children to reach to and from school.

Teach proper correct mannerisms: ladies first, allow adults to sit down in public venues/areas, courtesy and talking always nicely to others, teach peace amongst all student - use a budding system so no-one if  felt left alone. Open suggestions children can provide feedback on rating how they rate their lessons and write down  what they learn in 1-2 lines.

Practice on job interviews and assistance in preparing references in High School.

More focus on promoting each school providing updates in the local paper as 'students of the week' for each school, why they got it and any highlight stories. Maybe schools could provide a local magazine to their local community, student of the week for each class and the children's comments. This also educates the communities as to what is happening at their local schools.
