Ed Husic's Education Forum On Monday Coming Up!

The Hon. Ed Husic, Federal Member for Chifley is holding an Education Forum to discuss current and future School Education, so that our children receive the quality education they deserve: from Early childhood, Secondary right through to Tertiary  Education. Maybe  having a Questions and Answer style Forum!

Here are the details:

EDUCATION FORUM

This forum will let you hear what Labor is doing to protect our schools and will give you a chance to share your views.

Making sure the young students of our area can get a high quality, affordable education is an absolute priority of mine.

From early childhood right through to university and TAFE, I believe a high quality education system is crucial – to ensure our young can build a better life for themselves.

That’s why I’m incredibly upset about the way Tony Abbott has cut funding to almost every level of our education system.  In a short space of time, the Abbott Government has:
  • Cut school funding in our area alone by $270 million;

  • Cut $1 billion from child care, and introduced legislation to cut the Child Care Benefit;
  • Cancelled all future Trade Training Centres; and

  • Planned to bring in $100,000 university degrees with mortgage-style interest rates.
To talk through what this means for our area, I will be hosting an Education Forum with the Hon Amanda Rishworth MP, Shadow Assistant Minister for Education; Shadow Minister for Higher Education.

I hope you can join us for this important discussion next Monday.

Ed
