It has been nearly 6 months since Blacktown City Council approved a pedestrian walk phase for the eastern side of the traffic lights on Luxford Road, North Mount Druitt, the exit and entry of Westfield.
When I had seen the white paint markings on the road (with the upgrade in roadworks in progress), I actually thought Blacktown City Council got the approval from NSW Roads & Maritime Services and also NSW Police, Mount Druitt.
It appears, Council doesn't want to tell us they didn't get the approval for the essentially required 'Pedestrian Walk Phase'
I believe that to have a pedestrian walk phase on a traffic light, it needs at least 30 vehicles passing across the intersection each day. That would be so easy to happen, hundreds and hundreds pass per hour.
Hopefully, I'm wrong and the pedestrian walk phase has been approved as hundreds of community members are at risk of potential accident or fatality, if this is not immediately implemented.
