Was Westfield, Mount Druitt Sign Up For Sale?

When the community have a private sale on, they might privately advertise on any pole, sign and/or fence. So a community member has done this on the Westfield Mount Druitt sign, which if looking at the sign, and the detailed description wasn't there, it appears the Westfield sign is 'For Sale or Moving Sale'. This could be an omen for us, if we want the sign to be moved allowing pedestrian clearance access to the traffic lights.

The sign was removed by in the last week, in case you are looking for it!

Crooked Pedestrian Crossing At Westfield Mount Druitt - Is This For Crooked Pedestrians?

It seems that at Westfield Mount Druitt wants you to read signs at a slight angles or be a crooked pedestrian! I've watched this sign for a few months and it is always ignored for maintenance and improvements. I'm sure this sign has been there a few years, so the neglect from Westfield Mount Druitt Management is obviously meant to be this way until there is a potential accident!

Under the Australian Work Health and Safety Act and Regulation , the car park must have regular work place inspections to investigate the workplace pick up potential risks, risk assess it and then eliminate the potential risks. Time and time again, there is that unconcerned view that, 'It doesn't matter, no one will pick it up.

In fact, if they can't do their  job, then the community will do their job for them. As a former Chair of a Work Health and Safety Committee, I understand the process and unbeknown to them, I will conduct one and report back!

In the mean time, we hope they fix up this pedestrian crossing sign, to make pedestrians see the sign straight as well as preventing vehicular accidents. Maybe other stakeholders can follow this through to make sure Westfield Mount Druitt comply to this request.

We also notes that Westfield Mount Druitt have not changed as previously reported. Check out Westfield Mount Sign - not attended too after 1 year.

Westfield Mount Druitt Advertisement Good For Unit Residents Only - Drivers On Road Hard To Read!

This is what is seen by residents living opposite the sign
I should be paid a large amount from Westfield Management for making an Advertising Managers observation that the large Westfield sign in Mount Druitt (on Luxford Road) can most be seen by residents living opposite units on Luxford road, Mount Druitt.

This is what cars see at night, coming from east!
In fact , it has been like this for years, all they need to do is angle the sign facing North-East, Bingo! attracts more people to the add!

If they check the sign corner of Carlisle and Luxford roads, Mount Druitt. that is at a correct angle!

We will hope that Blacktown City Council, follows this up with Westfield, Mount Druitt Management.

Lights Out At Westfield Mount Druitt!

Yes, it seems that Management of Westfield Mount Druitt do no drive out of the Luxford Road entrance at night because if  they did they would see that they are not providing lights for there main signage. They should offer reduction costs to the companies and businesses that advertise on this sign.

What they show on the outside, could show what is on the outside! We hope that Blacktown City Council will get Westfield Mount Druitt Management to get their act together and show the lights!

In Italy They Have Leaning Tower of Pisa - In Mount Druitt We Have Leaning Sign From Westfield!

Here you can see
on the left The Leaning Tower of Pisa and on the right Mount Druitt Leaning Sign From Westfield.

The photo on the right was taken Months ago and it appears that Management from Westfield are happy leaving the sign like this. I didn't   want to show you this  before now as I was hoping that Westfield would have fixed it up by now. Not a hope, it needs people from within the community to bring this to the attention to the right authorities.

Amazing - Westfield Mount Druitt Entrance Signage - No Lights Westfield!

Lucky a lot of  community members know how to enter the access roads to and from Westfield Mount Druitt. At the access and entry ppoint  corner of  Luxford Road, Mount Druitt North, here are signs that are switched off. This could mean 2 things - they are trying to save money or no globes to be found to

turn the signage lights on!

I hope it is the later of the two. This is important for people that are from outside the area to know where the entrant points are and to know at night time what shops are available.

Westfield Mount Druitt Pedestrian Crossings Fading - No One Reviews These!

You can see how the Westfield Mount Druitt Work Health and Safety Committee doesn't seem to meet as if they did they would ensure pedestrian crossings for pedestrians would not be fading so you can't see the paint.
Even these issues happen at an important entrance to a major store. It just shows how important Westfield Mount Druitt consider  the health and safety, by not ensuring there are regular checks done. These  are irregular checks! Not only that but it not make the place look like a great place to shop!
Let's hope they look into these issues and see what can be done to provide a safer and healthier community, by providing proper regulated  road signs!

Behind The Mixed Pedestrian Sign at Westfield Mount Druitt!

I have published a blog about a mixed pedestrian sign in Mount Druitt. What is more confusing is a sign behind that promotes pedestrians to walk on the road and there is no pedestrian crossing!

What do you think about this is this correct signage?

Footpath Access to Westfield From Luxford Road Mount Druitt -Inpropper Access - Stumbling Blocks!

Whilst we are looking at improvements of an inclusion of a pedestrian access on Luxford Road, Mount Druitt, crossing the road, we need further improvement of foot path access from Luxford road to Westfield entrance ( leading to the not fully ramp access).

You will see on the top picture if the pedestrian access is, ends at the  position where the  photo was taken, the going around the signs is very awkward.

Community members have made their own walking track on the rough surface on the left hand side of the signs. The signs will have to be moved to allow and provide better access to  community members.

Above photo shows you what community walk on after leaving the kerb. I sure  stake holders would not anyone to fall and/or trip and have accidents here!

Westfield Mount Druitt Ramp Access a 'NO GO' for Blacktown City Council Access Committee - But On The Agenda

We have  had a response from Access Community Access Worker Representative from Blacktown City Council.

Dear John, many thanks for referring the matter of the ramp to me.  I will bring this issue to the attention of Westfield’s, Mt Druitt and ascertain what it is they wish to do.  The Access Advisory Sub-Committee has previously reported that there is sufficient access in that area for wheelchair users without them using  the ramp.  Many thanks.

Editors Note: It appears that when we get to a stumbling block with facing a large corporation to resolve an issue, there are signs   decision makers may falter. That may cost money and change the way access is provided to the entire community, allowing all people proper access to pathways and roads, even in public shopping centers. No one should be denied proper access!

Yet, I feel there is hope as the internet provides the power to make decision makers feel the real chnage needed to make improvement in Mount Druitt, no matter how small or large the matter is.

Westfield Mount Druitt Ramp Inaccessible For Wheelchair Community

We are in the golden age of high technology, growing urban shopping hub in Mount Druitt as we change our directing of not providing community members  all areas of public access, to and from shopping centres.

If shopping centres deny access to certain community members or provide inadequate access to  any community members, then we are not in the golden age.

Here we have an established well known Westfield Shopping Centre in Mount Druitt denying access to wheelchair commuters in a ramp on the north entrance outside of Rashay's, near Coles Entrance.

yes , we are behind the times  but don't worry I will hold the banner of community improvement and  use the e-mails to get what  is needed by the community.  It will be well money spent by Westfield Mount Druitt Management preventing possible future lawsuits.

Let see  how quick this will be attended too by the relevant authorities. I will keep you posted.

Westfield Mount Druitt Sign Sends Mixed Message - Health And Saftey For The Community

Again, on behalf of the community, I am taking to task to seek an improvement in Mount Druitt Westfield, North entrance at Coles.

A lot of community members have seen it but do not want to raise the issue for fear of negativism from local authorities. Fear not,  I will do my best to get Mount Druitt on the 'Good Map' of improvement and make Council realise that we have our own independent issues

Her is  a sign asking for pedestrian to share the Westfield road which can cause potential accidents and death if fast cars are travelling into the road from the intersection before the sign. Look there is a very narrow path not even a pedestrian can walk on it.
I will seek Council's support to get this  improved as well as other improvements, seen by myself and  by other community members.

Yes there is ramp further ahead (on the left hand side),but there isn't a specific clearance  way to get to the ramp, except through a parking lot, where at general times can be hectic.

I will keep you up to date when  there is a resolution!
