Nominations are now open for Blacktown City Council’s Tertiary Scholarships.
There are 12 Tertiary Scholarships available, each worth $1,500, designed to give local students help with their academic endeavours.
Mayor of Blacktown City Stephen Bali encouraged university and TAFE students to apply.
“The Blacktown City Tertiary Scholarships program has been put in place to assist and encourage students in their pursuit of tertiary education,” Mayor Bali said.
“This program has been very well received by the community in past years and this is evident through the calibre of scholarship recipients.”
Scholarships will be awarded to 12 City of Blacktown residents who successfully completed one year’s academic study at a recognised tertiary institution in 2017 and will be studying for the full 2018 academic year.
Applicants must be residents of the City of Blacktown and provide a copy of the transcript relating to their current studies.
Applicants should also attach a brief personal statement as to how the scholarship will assist them and how residents of Blacktown might benefit from their further education.
Application forms are available by visiting Council’s website.
Applications close 9 March. For more information contact Council's Events and Protocol Supervisor, Kevin Poilly, on 9839 6534 or via email kevin.poilly@blacktown.nsw. gov.au .
