Mental Stress On First Responders of State Emergeneyc Services, Police, Ambulance, Fire and Rescue Ofiicers and Rural Fire Services - Mount DruittFire Station

It is with great heart and warmth that I would like to send out this important message shared by Mount Druitt Fire Station.

Whilst we talk of community mental health,  in the past, we tend to forget what mental stress our 'First Responders' of Emergency Services, Police, Ambulance, Fire and Rescue services as well as Rural Fire Services maybe going through after any incident. Sometime they relate to their personal lives and just talking about to experts, family and/or fiends maybe one step in the right direction.

The following video, is well produced, providing real life experience stories from different people who  appear to be handling their jobs and serving the  community as 'First Responders'. Maybe even one of us could learn a thing or two from it.

NSW Mental Health Commission released a video yesterday about first responders (Police, Fire, Ambulance, SES) about the stresses we go through...after an incident or incidents.
Emergency service workers describe how being on the front line affects their mental health, how they cope with the traumas they see, and their advice for colleagues on how to stay mentally fit.
Wellbeing staff from the first responder agencies also provide information about the help and support programs available, including peer support.
