This one of the first improvements we alerted the community and all relevant stake holders and someone had listened! Not one word spoken about over the phone! The world wide web, thank
you! For the community this is a big winner! We need community members to e-mail any issues they would like to an improvement that they know they have started - I will be the middle man or middle person.

No, you are not seeing rainwater on the Westfield Mount Druitt of Dawson Mall. I was astounded to see such gushing seeping cleaning water from the Asian Butcher and Seafood shop in Westfield Mount Druitt Dawson Mall.
Yet another community member from Mount Druitt (spotting myself taking pictures), afterwards advised myself this happens every day. This is an extreme health and safety issues for the community as there could be bits of fish and meat in this water that escapes from the business. Apparently this has been allowed for a long time!
I think this needs to addressed as a high issue for potential slips, accidents and death from spills.
By the way has anyone complained about the strong bad stench smell when walking past this shop?
What are your thoughts, does this need to be improved?
Going back many years, when I used to live in the Eastern Suburbs Local Councils had strict health requirements and guidelines, business would be closed until problems were solved. I think there could be infringement fines applicable from Blacktown City Council and/or NSW State Government.
Mount Druitt has such a long history in relation to, its beginnings to where it is in our modern world today.
With its history will spring up new housing developments, although a majority of the suburb have been existing for many decades.
The NSW Government has announce record 4736 housing approvals, which means within NSW there is growth. I would like to ask Blacktown City Council, of this amount house muchwas within the Mount Druitt area for approvals. Are we growing with the population or is the population out growing us. What are your thoughts? Let us know!

Sunny, a resident of Mount Druitt for a few years, explains to myself what he loves about Mount Druitt and made him move into the area.
Mount Druitt is a great place to live and buy affordable property, compared to Parramatta and Penrith, which are expensive areas. Rental properties are cheap as well as that is why people move into the area. The cost of living is cheaper in Mount Druitt as well as compared to many other areas.
He has quite a good saying, 'Enjoy your life and spend what you earn as life is too short'!
I add, ' Don't work too hard just work hard enough!
As of yesterday, we have received a response from a Blacktown Council Officer advising that the Westfield Car Park Shade Cloths issue (Click here for previous blog), has been quoted a 'not public issue'. Well if it is a private issue , there is hundreds of private people that could be affected.
This would be especially 'public' if the NSW Health or local General Practitioners , would have to get involved and dust from the shade cloths drop onto 'the public'.
Whilst we have total respect for the Councillor Officer or other Council Officers to find it difficult to deal with these type of issue, it is so pleasing they are the ones referring to the appropriate authorities. We do not want Council to be blind to these issues although it is on private property, which affects the public.
Maybe some community members would not realise the potential immediate health risk with these cloths, but it appears it is not regularly, washed or cleaned, or even replaced! If a lot of public had health issues from these shade cloth it, is it called 'a private issue'?
At Mount Druitt Westfield ton the northern end, there are huge shade cloths covering the back car park. Great for shoppers in the heat and for the rain. The only thing that concerns myself is that how often do they either clean them or replace them with a new one. Dirt is appearing on the shade cloths (and I know they have been there for a few years).
M health issue for the community as the dirt from the shade cloths can drop onto the shoppers and affect their health and I wonder how often the Westfield Mount Druitt Health and Safety and Blacktown City Council Inspectors have been monitoring it and reviewing it?
The other aspect is when you look up into the shade cloths it is not impressive.
Well finally can say, the Westfield Mount Druitt hole in the road/ground has been fixed - small issue but it wasn't looked after by Westfield Mount Druitt until it was raised by this website.
We do want to thank the General Manager of Blacktown City Council and its employees and Westfield Mount Druitt Management and Health & Safety/ Maintenance Team for making this improvement.

Today I was touched by a former resident of Mount Druitt, now living in a hobby farm outside of Orange NSW. I felt for him as he told of the reason why he was a busker in Dawson Mall, Mount Druitt.
Some people had stolen all his sheep and he needs to feed his family. Shocking as it sounds of life we still have hard working farmers, not only finding the work they do so hard - they have to deal with criminals among themselves.

Previously he had lived in Mount Druitt for 5 years and moved - now he is seeking charity for someone else that placed him in this position- I gave him some charity and so did others!
I have been advocating for footpath improvement within Mount Druitt, especially on shared cycle ways which Blacktown City Council promotes on their website. My issue is and was why promote them unless they are well maintained. Here is a contractor working on the footpath in Earl Street, Mount Druitt which is currently receiving improvements, this is really good for the community. I have address this issue before, so it appears Council Is listening and wants to see improvements in Mount Druitt. We congratulate Council for listening to the community!
Mount Druitt, which is in between the corner of Dukes Street & Luxford Road and off Moorehead Avenue Mount Druitt is a unique park that would satisfy cyclists in the area that would like to perform extra exercises. We suggest that you try it and enjoy it. Congratulations to Blacktown City Council in providing such a great park at a corner from of a couple main roads.
