Plumpton Wetlands - Blacktown City Council Issues Warning On Pesticides Used!

It is the 'season of weeding' and Blacktown City Council is doing the right job of notifying the community of what pesticides are used in public grasslands/wetlands.

With appropriate signs being placed on the entrance to Plumpton Wetlands and also significantly well placed sign in the vicinity of the car park, the sign is noticeable and that is what it is supposed to do!

I only have one issue, yet I'm sure Blacktown City Council has an answer for it. It appears that by placing this sign it may be a health risk to the community. Maybe, not enough to close the park and this is just a precaution, to warn the community.  To the average community member they will not know those scientific terms used as chemicals - maybe, an explaination of each medical term and and a further suggestion to provide a health risk rating out of 5 (5 being the higher risk rating),  of having bad health from this pesticide.

For  the general public
Maybe  we need Council to educate us and provide further details to the toxic affects  to the community. Also I did find limited information on Diflufenican.

I wonder if our 'Chewing Gum Mayor' understands these terms of pesticides used and their after affects.

Ellen Dale Reserve, Rooty Hill Not A fitness Park Like Ellen Dale Park!

What I find is funny is diagonally opposite, Northwest to Ellen Dale Reserve, Rooty Hill is Ellen Dale Park, Mount Druitt. In relation to naming places, maybe give them 2 different names - just my thought!
Ellen Dale Reserve, Rooty Hill
Anyway back to the real issue, if we are to provide Park and Reserves to the community, I now believe that fitness tracks like the R.A.A.F. Memorial Park, Mount Druitt should and Plumpton Park Wetlands walking track be mirrored, replicated in all Parks and Reserves within Mount Druitt and surrounding suburbs (no matter how small or large they are).

By doing this, allows the community to make choices and become healthier, which is a benefit to community within itself.

We will see if Council can commit to provide more accessible parks with outside fitness centers, that provide a better and healthier lifestyle.

Great Ellen Dale Park, Mount Druitt - Did You Know About it!

In Mount Druitt, not everyone knows what every community park has and every park is differently landscaped as well as designed for certain members of the community.

Now Ellen Dale Park,
Mount Druitt, which is in between the corner of Dukes Street & Luxford Road and off Moorehead Avenue Mount Druitt is a unique park that would satisfy cyclists in the area that would like to perform extra exercises. We suggest that you try it and enjoy it. Congratulations to Blacktown City Council in providing such a great park at a corner from  of   a couple main roads.

Look at what exercises can be perform from the pictures provided.

I just wich on Blacktown Council's website they would show pictures of all parks and gardens, so the community can view it.
