Blacktown City Council Media Release - More Slam Dunks At Pearce Reserve

Basketball facilities at Pearce Reserve, Kings Langley, are 

getting a $180,000 upgrade with the construction of 2

additional half courts.

Blacktown City Council and the Member for Greenway

Michelle Rowland MP successfully lobbied the Federal

Government for funding from Sport Australia through the 

Community Sport Infrastructure Grants Program.

Blacktown City Mayor Stephen Bali MP said Council is 

focused on providing quality sport infrastructure for the 

community.

“The new courts are part of Council’s commitment to create 

a more active and healthier community,” Mayor Bali said.

“This project was initiated by a request from David Ward, a 

member of the local community and Councillors, leading to 

the expansion of the already popular single basketball court.

“Pearce Reserve already includes numerous features 

including a walking path, playing fields, outdoor fitness 

equipment, playground, cricket nets, an oval and 4 tennis 

courts.

“The extra basketball courts will be the perfect addition to 

Pearce Reserve.”

Member for Greenway Michelle Rowland said: “This is a 

great project for local residents in Kings Langley. These 

courts will be a great new facility for the whole community.”

Construction is expected to begin in July with an 

approximate completion date in October. The local 

community will be consulted ahead of construction. For any

Blacktown City Council - Media Release - Council Pops-Up In Plumpton

Blacktown City Council is inviting residents of Plumpton and

surrounding suburbs to have their say at its first ‘pop-up’

information session for the year to be held at Plumpton

Shopping Centre next Saturday.

Blacktown City Mayor Stephen Bali MP and a number of 

Councillors will be on hand to answer residents’ questions on

any council issues.

Mayor Bali said addressing residents and ratepayers

concerns on the spot is one of the most effective ways to

engage with the community.

“The pop-up sessions have proven to be a very popular

initiative, with residents raising their concerns in a casual

environment at their convenience,” Mayor Bali said.

Council held three pop-up sessions across Blacktown last

year and is planning to hold one in each of the 5 Wards this 

year.

“Next Saturday’s pop-up session at Plumpton Shopping

Centre will be a chance to meet me and my fellow

Councillors and Council Officers to answer your questions

and concerns,” Mayor Bali said.

“We want as many people as possible to have ‘Your Say’.

“With my fellow Councillors, I look forward to listening to your

concerns,” Mayor Bali said.
