Defibrillators have arrived.

Mayor Bali, local MPs, sporting groups and reps from Red Cross, Cricket NSW, Penrith Juniors Rugby League, Cricket NSW and Doonside Little Aths celebrate the arrival of the defibrillators that will be installed in every sporting facility across Blacktown’s LGA.

Blacktown City Council has become the first council in NSW to place a defibrillator in every sporting venue across the council’s area.

Under the plan, 101 defibrillators will be rolled out across the council’s sporting facilities.

The $252,000 project is underwritten by Blacktown City Council with contributions rolling in from local MPs Ed Husic, Michelle Rowland and Edmond Atalla as well as sporting groups.

Mayor Stephen Bali will be announcing the initiative at 4pm on Friday June 2 at Charlie Bali Reserve, Knox Road Doonside.

Blacktown City Council First In NSW For All Sporting Venues To Have Diffibulators In All Sports Grounds - Daily Telegraph/News Local

Blacktown City Council is  the first in NSW for supplying over 100 defibrillators in as many sporting fields and complexes around the  Blacktown Local Government Area.

 Mayor Stephen Bali said, 'We have to cater for our young, to give that extra life for them to survive, if needed."

What has Council is working on is where to place them and who in these sporting clubs will  have them, placed to good use, in times of need?

I'm glad I'm not working that out, yet all I can say is that it has to be readily accessible and the right correctly trained medic/first aid can use them.
