Further To Naming Of 'Amery Square' In Honor of Mr Richard Amery, Current State Member Of Mount Druitt.....

I have received an overwhelming comment from a community member stating that 'Mr Amery has been the State Member for Mount Druitt for 31 years - this is a terrific suggestion. on Part Of Dawson Mall To Be Renamed To 'Amery Square' And A New Image Of Being Colourful!

First of all, to receive such a wonderful comment from a community member within less than 24 hours of publishing a blog is so so tremendous. Currently the spot mention is called 'Mount Druitt Town Square', part of Dawson Mall (as per Google Maps) - Yes it is historical. A change of name is could make the area a much better tag and name then it has and uplift the area.

In relation to Mr Amery being a NSW State Member of Mount Druitt for 31 years, slightly disagree as both Wikipedia and NSW Parliamentary information indicate he was a member of  Riverstone  in 1983 - whether Riverstone covered Mount Druitt in those days, we would have to ask Mr. Amery? But the point the community member may have updated myself in stating was Mr Amery was a NSW State Member of Parliament for 31-32 years, as well as his representation of State Seat of Mount Druitt.

Electronic Signs Not Working Platform 1 and 2, Mount Druitt Train Station

This morning, I arrived at the train station at Mount Druitt, shocked (like others) to see the most important  fairly new Electronic Signs on platform 1 and 2 not working. Luckily, audible notification was there as a back up.  I think we need to ask our local Hon. State Member of Mount Druitt, Mr. Richard Amery, to see how often maintenance checks are completed on the Electronic Signs at Mount Druitt train station and thus see whether this issue may be prevented for the future, to not happen again.

I also noticed that some commuters are placing stickers on these signs, which may block important information that is being read by public transport train commuters. If these two isues are not resolved by the NSW State Election date of 28th March 2015, then we hope the newly elected member of Mount Druitt, take this on and reports back to the community, unless Richard Amery does so, first!

By the way, platform 3 and 4 electronic signs were working!

Mount Druitt Community Gets Another Win - Blacktown Council Responds Positively!

On previous blogs, I have advised how we are informing the community of improvements that have been neglected in the past. I can now report that what I love about Mount Druitt is that  local Government authorities are holding their head high and taking responsible action. Here is the e-mail received from Council's Engineer:

Hello John,

I refer to your recent correspondence regarding the condition of the pathway located in William Mason Reserve.

I am pleased to advise that this project is currently listed in Council’s Works Improvement Program for future funding consideration at an estimated cost of $44,000.  At this point in time I cannot advise you when funds will be allocated for this particular project.  All listed projects are prioritised and reassessed on an annual basis for funding consideration. 

Council’s Civil and Open Space Maintenance Section also undertook a site inspection which revealed that some sections of the existing pathway presented a safety hazard and required restoration work and as such, a works order has been issued to fix up these identified areas

This indicates that one person can make a change without a verbal word said to the authorities. Even Council has recognised that the path is a Safety Hazard - Let's see how the  WIP (Work In Progress) take to provide  a much needed upgrade. I must say that it also took our local State Member for Mount Druitt, Richard Amery to assist us in getting this park upgraded.

The thing that attract myself to help the community, is 'Caring for the Community'. How can Mount Druitt be one of the best places in Sydney and NSW unless we provide necessary improvements. I call on the local community to bring on more improvement require within Mount Druitt, especially pictures - pictures says more then words.

Follow Up To Improvements Required On Concerning The Upgrade Of Paths/Track At William Mason Reserve Mount Druitt

Further report  from the  please story provides to you, on the issues provided to joggers, walkers and cyclists, that need to be attended too on William Mason Reserve, Mount Druitt.

This afternoon I spoke to Mark from the  Mount local area who  says the track that is at William Mason Reserve is not comfortable on his feet when jogging. He wasn't aware that was another walking track  in Ward 5, RAAF Memorial Park, alongside Woodstock Road Mount Druitt that has great  walking and jogging tracks ( that I have even used).

mark suggested that as a lot of  people use the park for fitness and recreation the path needs to be changed and made similar to the RAAF Memorial Park in Mount Druitt. I advised him  that I will take care of it  and advocate for improvements in all areas of Mount Druitt that require it. He was please about this and will spread the word of our  new community website.

Furthermore Richard Amery, NSW Member for Mount Druitt has made personal  representations to  Mr Kerry Robinson, General Manager of Blacktown City Council asking for the matter to be raised and  investigated. Thank you Richard!

Richard Amery Takes Over To See That Wheelchair Access Is Looked Into And The Hole In The Ground Is Resolved - Westfield Mound Druitt!

Letter received from Richard Amery (to myself) dated 21st February 2014, has referred e-mails he received dated 20th  & 21st February 2014 for the hole in the ground be investigated by Deb Atkins, Facilities Manager, Westfield Shopping town Mount Druitt. This is quick action Thank you, Richard!
