Beware Of Cabbage Leaves Stealers......

So, comes the time yesterday, when I was  shopping at the Express Lane at Woolworths, Mount Druitt and as I was completing my transaction a lady with a  shopping trolley from 'Coles' was asked by the Cashier as to what is happening as it is improper to take loose cabbage leaves, especially with a 'Coles'  shopping trolley and not pay for it.

What is this world coming too. This lady was of elderly lady of  Asian appearance and  distinctly could not talk English, AS she was  leaving the Woolworths Store, I indicated to her that she can't do that as she had a "Coles Trolley'. She franticly waived one of her hands up in the air, while the other hand was holding up her mobile phone in the air and she could clearly smile and kept saying the English word repeatedly, ' No. No. No!' It is amazing how her English is good with this word.

She issue I have for Woolworths is that:
  1. If  her trolley was full of loose cabbage leaves and she could have  easily gone inside the fruit and vegetable department and discreetly peeled off each cabbage vegetable to create a sense that she was picking up loose  cabbage leaves  from under the display cabbages.
  2. If Woolworths had  a security  guard (like they used too), in the front of the store this would not have happened
  3. The other issue is did she bring her trolley from 'Coles' Mount Druitt full and add to it from the loose cabbages from Woolworths Fruit and Vegetable Department?
  4. According to the Woolworths Cashier representative, it is a Workplace Health and Safety that these loose cabbage leaves  cannot be removed from their store. It appeared from what she said it is a theft by doing this.
So, just watch out if someone  does this and report it to the Woolworths staff, so that this lady can  understand  what she is doing may be illegal.

Mount Druitt Bus Interchange Dumping Ground For Shopping Trolleys - Solution Required!

We need a solution other than trolley pickers picking up trolleys all day at Mount Druitt Bus Interchnage.

Everyday community members are bringing one by one trolley after trolley to reach the Mount Druitt Bus Interchange from Coles or Woolworths Mount Druitt. Sometimes there is on shopping bag only in the trolley and generally there are more! This is becoming a clogging and interference for other commuters waiting for the bus. The Trolley pickers hired can only come around limited times as they wide range/are to cater for.

I was thinking that there are at least 3 possible suggestions that I know, that would make improvements with these trolleys not being dumped:
Check out how people dump them
  • Charge $2.00 for each trolley on entry and on return receive $2.00 refund.
  • Have a trolley storage bay before the entry to Mount Druitt Bus Interchange.
  • More regular trolley pick ups increased by employing some one who collects the trolleys as people are placing them  near the bus stop interchange.
We will if any one in Blacktown City Council has any other ideas for trolley dumping improvements at Mount Druitt Bus Interchange

Shop Trolley Pickers Spend Hours Driving Around - :Picking Up Trolleys!

I met a trolley picker, drives around  from Great Western Highway to Plumpton , St Marys and as far west as Whalan, picking up shopping trolley that commuters cannot return.

Here we see him at night along Meacher street Mount Druitt, doing hi job. He has to drive from street to street - this just consumes unneeded petrol if community members just returned the trolley, maybe used  the shops home delivery service or use taxis or buses to get to their destination.

I know it is job creation but is this the kind of job we need wasting unnecessary fuel! If you do this will you look at other ways to ensure our community is not used as a dumping ground? I would never think of doing this unless I want to return it or as we advise in our previous blog  Coles and Woolworths should be considered to the community and use the same shopping trolley system as Aldi's

Woolworths & Coles Mount Druitt, Shopping Trolleys Are Been Used And Dumped In Community Footpaths Dumping Grounds!

Why I love Mount Druitt is we have  a shop called Aldi's that charges a $2.00 hiring charge for using their trolley and you get it back, once returned to their store. This is great not only for them but the community we live in as less people will take this trolley and walk a long distance - empty out the contents and then dump the shopping trolley on the public footpaths or places where are no footpaths.

So with Woolworths and Coles Mount Druitt, these expensive shopping trolleys  have  no chrage for using them and thus people run away with these  trolleys and they do dump them on streets and the place is looking like a mess.  This is  where Blacktown Council need to dicusss with Westfield Mount Druitt, Coles and Woolworths Mount Druitt Management, ways so the community is not burdened with these trolley and for days on end left on theses streets.
If you look  in the background there are
more lying trolleys

The best solution is charge a  similar fee on their trolleys, or  have navigational devices that are placed on these trolleys and if these trolleys reach the outskirts of Westfield boundaries, it sets off an alarm until the trolley is  return into the shops and or Westfield, Woolworth or Coles officers collect their trolley back and the community is then left clean! I assume the trolley collectors run around the community ;picking up trolley but if an electrical device is placed on (as mentioned above), problem solved!

Furthermore Council could place fines to people caught taking trolleys out of  Shopping Center boundaries! Something has to be done!
