Winners in Chifley Federal Seat Re-eclected Ed Husic And Formal Votes!

So, for me there was  a few winners in Chifley Federal Election on 2nd July 2016. Obviously, the major winner was  re-elected member Ed Husic has picked up a swing of 8.43% , total votes of  44,013 on a two party preferred against Liberal party candidate, Mohit Kumar.

Not counting absent, provisional, Pre Poll and  postal voting being counted, he has done pretty well. On Primary votes, Liberals had a 9.10% against them. The small winners were Joshua Green, Christian Democrats increase swing of 5.53%, The Greens 1.62% swing towards them and independent Ammar Khan 0.46% from last election.

The big winner, not talked about was that formal votes had increased by 5.42%, reducing Informal by the same Margin, with 69,932 of the votes counted so far that means that means 3,790 more votes were not counted as formal. That is an astonishing result for Chifley, when I have been advocating for informal votes to be made into formal votes.

As for the State of the Country politically, there are challenges from minor parties and independents to make it harder for any government to govern.

The Great Thing Of Australian Electoral Commission At Mount Druitt Hub: Early Voting - Good For Chifley, Lindsay and McMahon Voters!

Image result for australian electoral commissionIn this Australian Federal Election, there is a great initiative happening for Prepoll or now otherwise called "Early Voting".

This is the second time I have done this in my life, the first in a former  State election, in my recall. I found this to be an easy way of freeing my day on Saturday, allowing me to know my vote has been counted and  I have polled by vote. As to how I voted all I can say is I haven't voted informal, the rest is private, like everyone's  vote is a private decision. Click here for my post on formal voting

At the Mount Druitt Hub, in Mount Druitt Town Square, the Australian Electoral Commission's Regional Office accepts voters  from Chifley, McMahon and Lindsay Federal Offices. This makes it so much easier for voters residing on the outskirts of Mount Druitt in different Federal Electorates like Minchinbury and St Marys for example.
