Mount Druitt Train Station Update!

Image result for opal logoWell as the introduction of the Opal Card has been introduced and the rate of commuters obtaining the opal Card increasing, the rate of paper ticket sales decreases.

So what affect does it have on the staffing of Sydney Trains employees at Mount Druitt train station? It means the reduction of ticket sales employees as has been seen happening in the past as it is being now automated.

Not only that ticket windows are being closed and only available for providing change to purchase tickets at the current non-Opal ticketing machine, ending at the end of year.

The future plans are in process to remove the Station Assistants office ( on the side of the barriers) allowing for more barriers to be installed and used (High Barriers).

Right The new 'Hub'
There is the new Station Assistant's 'Hub'  information desk, currently facing the wall of the current ticket office, which is in dispute at present, as it doesn't provide any protection for Station Assistant's.
