Club & Pubs Hours To Be Opened Later In The Afternoons - Mother of a Bipolar Disorder Son, Mount Druitt!

Mary from Mount Druitt, who I have known and seen in the area for the last 25 years or so, has asked if I could do something to help her son and the rest of the Mount Druitt wider community.

It is something that is hardly spoken about, but recently has raised some 'think tank heads' that needs to be looked at and remedied. Her elderly son has Bipolar Disorder. He is a compulsory gambler, hocked  his and family items to support his habit. Mary then goes to the hock shop pays them back to return home, finding more items hocked.

He does not understand how he is treating his life and the close people around him, whilst coping with this mental illness. 

Bipolar is a mental illness that can make it difficult for family or
friends to assist the person having a better life. It could happen to anyone at any time.

Her request she feels will fall on deaf ears as she claims politicians and bureaucrats will may not want to listen and do something about it. She wants local Hotels/ Clubs not to open so early in the mornings and be opened later in the afternoons. The reason is her son is a compulsive gambler and is hocking items at hock shops, in our local area. As soon as she pays for the items herself at the hock shops, he is at it again using his and her own personal items a hocking again, feeding his gambling issue. 

She also doesn't know who to turn too. I have suggested she seek counseling, to hopefully give her a peace of mind.

By these hotels/clubs opening early in the morning it is promoting more people like her son to be a compulsive gambler. I personally think these clubs/Hotels should open around 2pm earliest not 8am like some do. This may not be to the clubs/pubs satisfaction or advantage: cut in profits, jobs etc but isn't it better to reduce the cases of compulsive gambling  combined with the mental illness of Bipolar Disorder!

She claims there will be less of a rush of her son and others to gamble and waste their money and people will have more time to do more relaxed activities.
 
If this doesn't win the clubs/pubs over, then at least it might win the community over and any other community advocates, local, state and federal politicians, health authorities. Let's see what these authorities can do to get these opening hours reduced.

Member For Mount Druitt - Edmond Atalla Inaugural Speech In NSW Parliament 14/5/2015

Thanks to Edmond Atalla's Youtube channel, I have been able to proudly see the inaugural speech of Edmond Atalla at the NSW Parliament on the 14/5/2015. He is so well spoken and educated and his story on how he reached Mount Druitt is a piece of the jigsaw puzzle that each of us has on our own story of how  we all reached Mount Druitt.

From arriving as an immigrant to be given an opportunity as an Australian, to serve the public in high office, is well rewarded. You can see that his heart lies within the Mount Druitt electorate and  he places his family high in his important life as well. He compliments past Members of NSW Parliament, Allan Shearan and Richard Amery and there is high regards for his fellow Councillors: Allan Bleasedale, Charlie Lowles and current Mayor of Blacktown Stephen Bali. There were honory mentions of local members that helped him being elected as a Labor Party, State Member.

Edmond has provided everything to our blogspot on 'whyilovemountdruitt' his version and in doing so, has  placed a lot of  thought, especially from his heart in doing so. Click here for his 'Why I Love Mount Druitt'

I commend Edmond Atalla for providing an inspirational speech that provides both tears and cheers as a true Honorable member of NSW State Parliament. I furthermore can see he will carry the Mount Druitt flag and be a true advocate for the area (in NSW Parliament) support our community improvements.

Another Different Looking Emergency Services Vehicle In Westfield Mount Druitt!

Time and time again, there has been Emergency Vehicle  parking spots taken up by funny emergency vehicles, of which Westfield Mount Druitt allows (as it appears to be)!

Mount Druitt has got  Police, but Westfield Mount Druitt has got the 'Unmounted Police'. No one sees  them fining customers for illegal smoking under the NSW Some Free Act of 2000 and no one charges them for illegal parking, like below:

The good thing about this vehicle is, if you are going to be transported to the nearest hospital, you have complete air conditioning no roof comfort and it is extremely private. Jokes aside, something should be done to fine these vehicles that could block access to 'emergency services'. Maybe intervention via Blacktown City Council and the NSW State Member of Mount Druitt, Mr Edmond Atalla.

So What happens When You Reach Mount Druitt Train Station And There Is A Power Loss.........

So what does happen when there is a power loss at Mount Druitt Train Station, when you reach it heading for your destination...you are  firstly stunned and lost for words.

 So the Sydney Trains Station Assistant at the Mount Druitt vestibule area, was calm and sedate in answering each commuters questions when there was  no Opal Electronic Ticketing machine available to 'Tap and Go'!

No top up machines, no barriers working, but left open for all to pass through and finally no electronic indicators in the vestibule area also the platforms.

We were informed that that there was a power loss, when you reach Opal, explain situation and they will credit you instead of  being charged the full fair. This must be done after the 'Tap Off' point.

So I did, spoke to a customer service operator and received the appropriate credit of $2.44. It all counts!

The electricity company was working down the road straight away!

What we need to know is what caused the power loss, was it done criminally or was it caused by  natural events. Maybe our State Member for Mount Druitt, Edmond Atalla, will follow this through!

In The Future Will We Need Real Classrooms Education: Spiral Education Application - 1:1

So how does the future look for school children in regards to education, will real classrooms become 'unreal classrooms'?

Will we eventually need, actual primary, secondary and tertiary educational buildings and classrooms?

Who knows, more and more children use the internet for leisure and for further assistance towards their own education. With new technological advances within our worldly community, this enables our young children to be allowed to study from their own home to learn of life's skills and beyond?

Well there is a free application that can be used by children called, 'Spiral Education'  that places children in a classroom situation, engages students, provides individual support and accelerate student achievements. Is this the way our educators need to go with future education to give our great children greater education and qualifications?

Any one that uses this application, I do ask you to provide us with feed back, so we can inform the community and also find out from local educators how they perceive this incentive.

Illegal Dummping Of Rubbish An Attitutde Of ' I Don't Care If I Leave A Mess Community Attitude'!

Time and time again I have reported of the illegal dumping of rubbish within Mount Druitt suburbs, within Blacktown Local Government Area.

Council does it's best to educate the community, Mayors do their very best to explain the major costs involved to remove dumped rubbish in yearly budgets, schools in my young days taught us to be neat and tidy, total respect for our home, streets and community. This should be promoted further!

I would like the Mayor and Councillors, to produce a 'Healthy Blacktown Environment means a Healthier Community' video document and this video could be shown as a promotion on keeping our environment clean, on events like Australia Day, Rooty Hill Fire Works celebration and referring to Council's Youtube site as well. In this video could be explained  health and financial costs to the community and council.

One thing I notice is when there is a legal pick up of  waste removal, Council doesn't provide residents to label it, so it is clearly marked,  with a letter of confirmation and a reference number on it! This would make it easier to identify illegal dumpsters!

Blacktown City Council must now take more immediate action on illegal dumpers by employing more 'Rid Inspectors' which catch the community off guard.

Click here for an illegal dumping website for North NSW Councils  and all illegal dumping signs must include possible fines included and must be clearly be in positions were residents can see it, clearly. Viewing Fines on notice board can reduce  the risk of illegal waste dumpers doing their job.

The Council's Action Plan could assist them in producing a video that  has been previously mentioned. The most important thing Council to do is change it's website on this so  people can report illegal dumping of rubbish and be fined appropriate.

Let's look at it as an individuals. You and I mostly live in a cleaned residence and we clean it ourselves. You and I live in a clean community if the Council cleans it up, we pay for it! We pay for it in a health way and a  financial way. I'm sure local health authorities agree with myself that the less polluted our community is the more healthier our community is. The more illegal waste dumpers are caught and fined, the less financial burden is to the community!

Surely as a community member of Mount Druitt, you agree wholeheartedly with this improvement to clean up the community.

'If You Want To Change The Community, Change Yourself And The Community Will Change!' - Mount Druitt Community Member

Most of us find it difficult to accept changes in our own lives, within our own community. That could be because we are accustomed to the old ways and surroundings, as we ask ourselves, why the change?

Some of us will challenge the change and the rest of us will accept them, without hesitation! I'm sure there are many things this blogspot has asked for with all kinds of improvements. When they have changed the community for improvements, people feel and accept the positive out it has of life them.

As each person migrates, as as new child is born within our communities, so it is important that we know that we have to accommodate and plan for not only our current growing population but for our precious future population. More soever adequate and proper infant ,primary, secondary, tertiary education and assistance with roads, footpaths, shopping centres, housing, parks, reserves, public transport infrastructure, medical facilities, legal system and other essential community services. The idea of proper careful planning is making sure that every single person is catered and count for all essential needs of community life to succeed and be fulfilled.

So the reason why I am discussing this, simply is although this blog was supposed to be published nearly a week ago, a community member called Dishan from Mount Druitt, made a powerful statement that took myself by surprise, something that reflects on each and every one of us that talk to each other, within our own community. 

'If you change the community, change yourself and the community will follow!'
  
I also have a special phrase that I tell everyone, as a majority of people think that it is hopeless to seek good improvements for the community, the thought is a lost cause. It is a lost cause if nothing is done about it!

'It takes the voice of one person to change the world by talking to another person; once a person talks to one person of  improvements required and the the other talks to another person, the word spreads!'

Rail Safety Week 2015 - Let's Make It Every Week in Mount Druitt Area!

 

As we travel to work on Sydney Trains, are we courteous to others and mindful of safety issues around us? The biggest issue I have seen in our area is moving closer to the edge of the platform as the train arrives. This issue may allow someone to fall off onto the train track.

Check out the above video about Rail Safety Week 2015. We need to look at being safety awareness with all public transport rail at all times. This even includes others that are not safety awareness on public transport trains.
