This Is How I Remember Mount Druitt In Winter- When I Was First Here!

This is how I remember Mount Druitt in its cold wintery days, over twenty years ago! This  early morning weather happened just recently. In fact it is such a great fresh feeling to see this at 7am. I can also feel a bit eerie if there is no one around.

Sometimes you are looking around and when you see someone else around you are that much safer! How would you feel if you were walking through all this thick mist?

 

William Mason Reserve Upgrade Of Foot Paths - Missing Other Paths!

Although the Blacktown City Council has completed the foot path improvements and upgrade, within William Mason Reserve, Mount Druitt, which we congratulate them for doing so, there further improvements required.
On of them is new footpath to extend in a curve from the left hand picture to the right entering into Meacher Street, Mount Druitt. The right side picture does need to be fixed up as my daughter tripped over from the dirt patched area, onto Meacher Street foot path.

Here on the left is an entrance on Meacher Street, that community members had made their own walking track, bush the bus part of William Mason Reserve, Mount Druitt. I now think that a concrete pathway or foot path  will solve this problem. 

I hope that Blacktown City Council looks at these improvements, to assist the North Mount Druitt community, to have a better community.

And here is the part at William Mason Reserve, Mount Druitt that has been missed, to provide a straight concrete footpath to connect to the Eastern side of Methven Street, Mount Druitt. There is the
  William Mason Reserve Sign around middle this man-made path way. We will see how Blacktown City Council gets around this issue!

I just note the last sentence could be read funny. I  hope Counc sees the funny side to it! On a serious note, I hope they get things done for our well deserved community.

Mount Druitt Community Notice Boards With No Sign To Tell!

A sign is something that tells someone of something (in words or pictures), especially describing what is in front of you, provide any warnings and could tell you where you and how to get to other places. A sign is never a blank sign. A sign is something you may remember! A sign has to be read. A sign must be understood. A sign can be of any design. There are signs everywhere we walk, drive a car and ride on any form of transport.e

So in Mount Druitt we have Community Signs that are placed for the simple fact of  having a community notice board showing the public within or outside of Mount Druitt, to understand maps and community events and any other sources of information.

Currently we have notice boards that have no notice due to some members of the public that like to destroy notice. They do not how people need notices to prevent being lost and help them get to the right places:

Foot Path Improvements At William Mason Reserve!

It takes new technology and one individual to change the world, country, state, city, suburb, community and/or your own home.

That is what I believe in as on behalf of Mount Druitt community, we are getting community improvements, that  provide a sudden change to the positive outlook of lives and shine a light of  future hope. This in turns can change what perception of government bodies and institutions have on a specific community.

Here are the pictorial real changes occurring at William Mason Reserve, Mount Druitt. We hope you enjoy it and notice how this started with one picture, one e-mail and the highest populated City Council taken on the task and  completing it.

 This is how the contractors started marking the pathway ready for the upgrade improvement

And below  left was how it looked!
Below right an obvious marking where the new concrete is going, I like it!

There has been slabs of grass placed on each side of the new foot path, this is because a majority of the grass was removed, when clearing for the improved path way. This should allow the grass to grow into the main areas where the main grass is.

Bus Drivers Travel Cashless From Now On!

For many years there has been so much crime with attempted  robberies on bus drivers, life threatening situations and importantly health & safety issues, as well as mental after affects from these situations, drivers and commuters face.

While the NSW Minister of Transport made the announcement of 'Pre-Pay' or 'Cashless' buses starting as from 1st best June 2014, although it will change the life style of how commuters travel on buses, this will take a bit of getting used too.

In the long run, it will reduce crime rate and make bus drivers focus, more on the job - which is really what they are paid to do!

 I have advised letter that NSW family and Community Services has sent our letter to all pensioners, providing them with retail outlets where tickets can be purchased at $2.50 - purchase is minimum 10 tickets - with an indefinate date of usage.

Meacher Street Mount Druitt Sign

This is a sign that I may need some help in understanding. No, I do understand what the sign reads and message it is sending to the community. My problem is, is it placed in the wrong place as the sign is from far this overgrown grasslands, where

is a high fence surrounding an empty bloc k of land. It appears it is waiting for development for medium density housing.

Is the soil erosion, caused by the overgrown grass? Or is it something else?
I just couldn't see the storm water drain there, unless someone can point myself in the right direction!

Mount Druitt Sign - Does It Need A New Design?

This is one of a few signs that indicate when cars enter Mount

 Druitt, when they reached Mount Druitt. I find that the sign is rather ordinary (although someone has erased the Blacktown City Council emblem/logo).

We live in an age and area where we have people could redesign this Mount Druitt sign. If any one in the community would like to create and design one, send an e-mail to nsjpas@gmail.com . Explain in  your own words why you made and  created that design. I will then refer Blacktown City Council, to see if they will accept a modern designed creation. Upgrade Of Mount Druitt Bus Interchange - Reason Bus Temporary Drop Zones!

I noticed that sometimes I am a little detective working out what is happening within the community. Always one plus one equals two.

So when I noticed this morning that there was construction work on the drop bays at Mount Druitt bus interchange, it made sense what was happening!epor

These Bus Drop Zones are until NSW for Transport upgrade Mount Druitt Bus Interchange. So far, there is the ripping out the pavements on the Mount Druitt Bus Drop Bays. Here is the start of the upgrade:

North Parade Mount Druitt, Drop Zone For Buses!

It appears that there is a new drop zone for buses on the Mount Druitt train station side of North Parade, Mount Druitt.  This is happening as of 26th May 2014.  

For commuters arriving from the East or North of Mount Druitt   dropping off at a new 'Drop Zone' is good. I'm note to sure what is happening with commuters that are arriving from Carlisle Road or Belmore Road, Mount Druitt.

I think if it benefits all bus commuters - fantastic idea. I first lived in Mount Druitt, I thought alongside the train station would been a great place to pick up and drop off from and on buses.

What do you think? Is this a positive  step in the right direction?

Pensiors May be knocked Back To Enter Buses in Mount Druitt From Today!

We hope that bus drivers are lenient towards Pensioners who will need to Prepay for buses from today. They say there has been a lot of warning about it, I agree but pensioners are the 'fragile commuters', a majority of them don't know how to computers or have difficulty in understanding changes in technology that affect  the public. 

These are the people that need to be shown how to use the 'Opal Card' and then they will understand. There is a great fear to accept this new technological change. 

I'm sure once pensioners are shown how to use the 'Opal Card' a majority of them will be right! If people are refused to enter a bus, I believe there is a transitional period, that old tickets will still be in use for a period of time!
