Female Penrith Train Commuter Shocked By Other Commuter On Trains - Safety Officers Required On All Public Transport

When we are all on public transport, we expect the best safety standards for all of us. We expect to be treated fairly by all other commuters.

The incident that occurred and was mentioned to myself, by a female Penrith train commuter, makes me think how much extra safety officers do we need on trains?

The other day a female commuter was sitting on a two-seater as she got in the train station at Penrith heading to Chatswood for work. When she reached Blacktown train station, a male approximately in his forties felt there wasn't much room, next to him to sit down next to her. The male commuter started to abuse  and use violent words against her as well as other other commuters, on the carriage.

He was yelling, putting her down to shame and also included all women. She noticed that under his shirt there was a sort of foam, around his waist. She was afraid of his attitude and claimed there was no other commuter assisting her. They may have also felt threatened and been afraid.  She stepped off at Parramatta train station, seeked help from a station assistant and the NSW Police arrested this man. There was no video evidence on this particular train carriage and this man advised the police, he was wearing the protection under his shirt, for his own protection.

This woman was terrified, by this incident and left home from Chatswood around 4pm to reach home, same day, which was early for her.

I think, we may need to have more safety/security officers on trains or at least train stations and we need the NSW Government to ensure that all train carriages have  plenty of camera/video footage to capture any events, similar to this. We do wish for a zero tolerance of anti-social behavior on any form of public transport.
