Pre Poll At 'The Hub' Mount Druitt Is Busy At Times And Then Not....

I have notified  the community on Pre Poll at 'The Hub' Mount Druitt of recent and I noticed last Saturday was busy in the morning.

'The Hub' Mount Druitt - last Saturday
Local Council elections seem to be low key elections compared to State and federal Elections, where they get  State and Federal media, inclusive of tv, radio and the press. Whereas we mainly get the  local press, who are good at spreading the word prior to and after the  election. You'd be surprised that although 'you' may not think that local politics is important, it is in actual fact.  Elected candidates, 15 of them represent  all of Blacktown  Local Government Area. With the  current estimate population of  Blacktown City Council being  340,000 approx Click here that means that on average each elected Blacktown City Councillor would be looking after 22,666 community members each. Which could mean Mount Druitt area - covered by Ward 4 and 5 would be around the 100-135,000 population.

Local future planning and current decisions are important and made on a day to day basis. Our  elected Councillors are supposed  to  make decisions that  benefits the community based on costs and available funding, that is then prioritised based on what improvements are good and required for the future, with the inclusion of new and expanding suburbs.

SO iot is important that we choose the right candidate: someone trustworthy, someone that speaks their own word and mean it and some that you can look on that will  get the best results for our community. You can vote on experience and leadership, you can vote  on a 'young' and vibrant candidate, all I say is choose someone. Don't forget it is on the 10th September 2016.

Mount Druitt Needs More 'The Hub' Signs

Would you you believe it or not, most people know where Dawson Mall is but when it comes to signs - we have have no or  little signs leading to 'The Hub". They point to everywhere else, which can be good but if people  don't have electronic devices to lead them there  and need to get to the Mount Druitt  Library hub, they will have to ask people to do so.

I can  recount a story to that actually happened a few years ago, when I was President of Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group Inc.. we had a local Transport Forum that we were holding at 'The Hub' on a Saturday.  Most members of the group and community knew about the venue and where it was.

We a former  Mayor  of Blacktown  asked myself and a few others where it was  and how to get there. So we explained and  even we did this member of the group and Former mayor of Blacktown, could not find the place called 'The Hub' and could not  make it to the meeting and returned home.

Maybe if there streets signs leading to it that might have been better. So I ask candidates of the Blacktown City Council elections on the 10th September 2016, consider placing more or adding 'The Hub' signs pointing to the direction of 'The Hub'.
