Believe or not! Westfield Management have approved a new vehicle to us the "Emergency Services Only" parking sign!
It seems like the community is just parking bicycles where ever they can as there is no official bike rakes or storage lockers that Westfield Mount Druitt have decided so far no to care for Bicycle and cycling community. Maybe instead of making profits for the business, outlay budgets for road improvements, lighting and signage improvements cycle rack and storage lockers.
A little money the right way, will show that Westfield Mount Druitt care for the people, if they don't do this, they only care for their own profits!

Down by the ramp access north of Rooty Hill train station, I noticed graffiti on the NSW for Transport's Bike Locker Hire's. This kind of graffiti can destroy the way we want our communities to remain looking beautiful and great. This adds costs to Local Government or NSW Governments costs and this money could be well spent in other beneficial areas for the community.
Graffiti around the area can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. We will ask that this graffiti is removed immediately and any other bike lockers within Blacktown Local Government area, along the T1 Western Line is regularly checked by relevant stake holders, ensuring that the natural beauty of the area is kept. Schemes should also be in place like camera's to catch the culprits and once court place them on a community program that provide community pride and maybe make them pay the costs of removal and repainting it!
We have published blogs before regarding bicycle racks or lockers needed at Westfield Mount Druitt. We understand that Council has no control over Westfield Mount Druitt, but Council can make recommendation for Westfield Mount Druitt to take up!
So again, we simply are showing bicylces illegaly being tied up in areas that has not been allocated or approved by Westfield Mount Druitt. So maybe they can now can now take a stand and show the community that improvements moving with the community, is the right direction to take. 'Cyclists are also shoppers'!
Even I would like to bike to Westfield Mount Druitt, place by bicycle in a safety bike locker or lock it up on a bicycle rack. I understand it is not at harms way but it defeats the purpose if there is no real designated area (even if some car park spaces are removed), which is a vast wide area the improvement can be made. We hope that Westfield Mount Druitt take this seriously!

As the community grows and Council Officers are looking to plan for the future of communities of public transport and general transport within Rooty Hill, there seems to be a bit of neglect or oversight to render the situation for cyclists who park their cycles next to ramps leading to Rooty Hill train station.
There a SydneyTrains Biker locker hire at a current cost of $50.00 for 3 months. There are 4 lockers on both North and South Rooty Hill, 4 on South Mount Druitt and 8 at North Mount Druitt. I also think Council consider daily secured biker locker hire for 1 day (coin slots maybe a $2.00 per day) and provide bike racks as a temporary meassyure.
Also promote the Sydney Trains Biker locker hire on the Blacktown City Council website, indicating where these are available at Blacktown City Council train Stations. This is a matter of importance!
