Caroline Chisholm Centre For Social Justice Closed 30th August 2018.....'whyilovemountdruitt Face Book Group'

A note from David, 'whyilovemountdruitt' Face Book group member and feed back from another Face Book Group Member:
SADLY, St Vincent De Paul Society (Vinnies) closed the Caroline Chisholm Centre for Social Justice for the last time on Thursday, 30/8/2018, citing lack of community support. Apparently, on the last day, they had 15 people approach the centre for assistance. NOW, if you require assistance from Vinnies you will be required to travel to the Blacktown office. Considering the complete dearth of charitable organizations providing assistance in Mount Druitt, this is a complete disgrace. It was only a few years ago that a hundred people a day approached Vinnies for assistance, what has changed? Yes the level of bureaucracy did not help, but we have a high level of homelessness in the area, including people sleeping rough, sleeping in cars & 'couch surfing' Vinnies & other organizations should be making it easier to help these people, as well as those who have rooves over their heads, but are struggling either as low income earners or benefit recipients. CONSTRUCTIVE comments are welcome:
