On Demand Services - Do We Want Them In Mount Druitt? Mount Druitt Commuters Inc. Face Book Page

On Demand bus services allow the commuter to book a bus to pick them up from either home or a convenient nearby location, and take them to a local transport hub or point of interest. It's booked using an App, online or by phone. Payment depending on the bus operator can be either Online using your credit card, by App, Opal or directly to the bus driver. Buses used on the "On Demand" services range from 13 to 21 seater buses.
There are currently 15 On Demand bus services in NSW. Only the Inner West service is permanent, having being made permanent on 1st July 2018 after having being on trial for a year. The other 14 services are on a 12-month trial to gauge patronage.

On Demand buses was suggested at the last meeting of this group as a method of getting buses into areas of Mount Druitt currently underserviced by Busways. These areas once had a full-time service but the services were reduced to either part-time or removed altogether after the timetable changes of 2009.
What do you think? Should there be an On Demand bus service in Mount Druitt? I'll be interested in your opinion. None of the current trial areas are in Western Sydney.
Areas of Mount Druitt currently underserviced by Busways include:-
Bidwill - Chestnut Crescent.
Bidwill - Manifold Road.
Mount Druitt Hospital.
Glendenning Industrial Area
Old Mount Druitt.
Shalvey - Sedgman Crescent.
Whalan - Gasmata Crescent.
Willmot - portions of Captain Cook Drive and Palmyra Avenue
