“This year’s National Youth Week theme is ‘Unity through diversity’, an important reminder about our rich multicultural community,” Mayor of Blacktown City Stephen Bali MP said.
“Blacktown City Council will offer a range of activities for the youth to take part in, share their ideas and make their viewpoints known.”

The Burbs Festival will mark the start of National Youth Week, the largest celebration of young people aged 12 to 25 in the country.

The event will launch on Thursday 12 April at 3pm, Dawson Mall in Mount Druitt.

“Council has a proud history of showcasing live music at its major events, and we will once again have a strong line-up of talent in Blacktown for The Burbs Festival,” Mayor Bali said.
“The Festival kicks off a week of activities across Blacktown City for the youth to go outside and be active. These include a charity basketball game and a Youth Off the Streets futsal tournament.”

Among the stellar line-up will be rapper Elijah Yo, DJ Jeff Tupai and Jazz, R&B and Soul singer/songwriter Kealoana.
The events will feature a range of activities including ‘Climb Mount Druitt’ Inflatable Mountain, Gladiator Dual and Jungle Run Inflatable world, Basketball three on three competitions, public art workshop and Oztag.
