EVENT Western Sydney/Nepean Regional Community Care Forums Following on from issues raised at our Regional Community Care Managers Forum and feedback from local Community Care forums, Western Sydney Community Forum (WSCF) is pleased to present two Regional Community Care forums, to address some of the issues raised. A session focused on aged care issues and a session for disability issues have been organised. At each of these sessions, there will be the opportunity for questions and answers, and you are encouraged to contact kathryn.hammond@wscf.org.au with any particular questions; these can be forwarded to the speakers prior to the sessions. Tuesday, 26 June 2018 - Aged Care focused 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Penrith City Council Nepean Room 601 High Street, Penrith Our Regional Community Care Forum this month will feature guest speakers from the NSW Government Department of Health and Ageing, presenting on a range of current issues and developments in Aged-Care, including the extension to CHSP contracts, the new manual, wellness approach, reablementand restorative care. Light Lunch will be included, followed by a training session on wellness and reablement, facilitated by Age Communications founder and speaker Glen Sorenson. Tuesday, 3 July 2018 - Disability focused 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Blacktown City Council Nirimba Room Entry via Campbell Street. Guest speakers from NDIS will provide an update on the NDIS rollout, NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and the new NDIS pathway. There will also be the opportunity for a question and answer session. 6 March 2018 10:00am-12:00pm Nirimba Room, Blacktown City Council Western Sydney Community Forum is currently looking at the way we work with the Community Care sector, to ensure we best meet the needs of our members and the communities they support.   With this in mind, we intend to utilise the Regional Community Care Managers forum to host a round-table discussion on the issues facing the sector and, from the information gained, develop the content of a Regional Community Care Forum to be held later in the year.
