Concerns, ideas and suggestions from women in Western
Sydney will be heard at a special forum hosted by Blacktown
City Council next week.
The Women’s Forum 2019 for Western Sydney, to be held on Tuesday 19 February,
invites women to build a platform of ideas to bring positive change for women across all
of Western Sydney.
Blacktown City Councillor Julie Griffiths, Chairperson of the Blacktown Women’s
Advisory Commitee said; “our Women’s forum will pose the questions - what contributes
to a good quality of life, what challenges do women face and what changes can be
made?”
“We want this forum to workshop the concerns, ideas and suggestions from women and
present their key findings to the decision makers in Government,” Councillor Griffiths said.
Blacktown City Mayor Stephen Bali MP said: “Exploring these ideas is an important part
of developing a framework to tackle issues for women in Western Sydney.”
The Women’s Forum 2019 is open to all women and community groups in the Western
Sydney region. The event will be facilitated by Chief Executive Officer of Nepean Area
Disability Organisation (NADO), Denise Heath.
“This is a chance for women and community groups to come together and work towards
improving the lives of women in Western Sydney,” he said.
