I received a text message from Rooty Hill RSL regarding an 'Off The Eaten Truck" event from 11am-1pm Saturday and today 11am-9pm. It wasn't what I thought it it was going to be as I was expecting so many large trucks offering food, but unaware how they would do it.
In fact, it there was about two or three lorry trucks there, yet there was many vans converted to plenty of food stores and even old ship containers, all store were from different countries. I even had seen something new: icecream sandwich.

Furthermore, there was religious food store, showing scriptures and thy were happily dancing and singing while they are making pizzas. This one seemed to have the longest queue for food

For children, there was other activities like a climbing jumping castles and a small animal farm for children to touch and cuddle. Adults were taking pictures even selfies with them.

There was plenty of people at the event and there were queues galore for the community to take time on deciding on what to eat and then eat there.

Early this morning local dignitaries, and representatives of the Australian Armed Services had marched from Rooty Hill Public School to Rooty Hill RSL, the Master of Ceremony was Television Personality, Kerri-anne Kennerly.
As I passed the Rooty Hill Car Park was completely full, not one space available. The nearer I got, the more I did not realise that just around the corner, entrance to Rooty Hill RSL, there was thousands on thousands of community members that wanted to pay their respects. They were quietly waiting as crowds were making their way to seats or left over standing spaces. I found a prime spot that allowed myself to take videos.
Rooty Hill RSL is large major Club - within the Rooty Hill - Mount Druitt area. I even heard story that when the 'Mount Druitt Workers Club - now known as 'West Tradies' was seeking a Club license, from the licensing board, Rooty Hill RSL knocked them back and it eventually it was provided to them.
Anyway, we notice recently that Rooty Hill RSL is upgrading Club facilities, so they can cater for the future 50 years. This is great for the community and for the Club, they are 'Thinking for the future'! We can't wait for the final result.![]() |
